POLITICAL AFFILIATIONS / GROUPS!
Below are some of the political fractions within the world, along with 3 different groups that are mostly secret. Signs up for the groups can be located in the claims board. this is not an exhaustive list of all political factions/affiliations, your character is entitled to hold an entire different view
Secret Groups
Knights of Pendle
Leader: TBD
The Knights of Pendle (KOP) is an organization long thought to be extinct that’s mission was to eradicate magic. With the collapse of the statute, they have came back and have started recruiting fellow muggles who hate magic out of fear or any reason, with a mission to destroy magic and those who practice it.
Mages of Nurmengard
Leaders: TBD- (5 co-leaders)
Named after the prison that held Gellert Grindelwald, this group is responsible for the attacks that brought down the Statute of Secrecy. Composed of elite members all over the magical world they are brought together by a single belief and goal: the magical world, ruling over the muggle one. They don't believe that the magical community should have to hide away, but instead live in the open with muggles serving them. They do not believe in a single, pure-blood only ideology, seeing all magical blood as precious unless it is of a traitor. In many ways this group represents the modern day version of Grindelwald and his followers.
Order of the Phoenix
Leader: TBD
Disbanded after the victory in the second war, the Order has came back together and started recruiting after the attacks in the spring. With an unknown group behind the attacks, and not clear on what the plan is the OotP has taken its mission to help ensure stability in the wizarding world and help root out those who have different plans.
Wizarding Political Affiliations:
Traditionalists
The traditionalists are a political affiliation that strongly believe the Statue of Secrecy should be established, and that the two worlds should remain separated. Some either view muggles as inferior or they are just afraid of radical change in their eyes. Some members of this affiliation also press for tighter restrictions for magical creatures and beasts.
Reformists
Since the collapse of the S.O.S. the reformists political fraction of the wizarding world has pushed strongly for a new statute allowing declaring that both the magical and muggle worlds will continue to live together in peace. They view the past statute as something unable to be done again given the circumstances and argue that the magical world should seek cooperation with the muggle world in matters of governance, and other issues.
Neutral
One who does not take either position or any position with the ongoing events or some of them in the world. This can be for numerous reasons.
