Located to the south side of the castle, the black lake holds the giant squid along with various other magical creatures.

The Forbidden Forest is off limits to students except for lessons, as it is filled with magical creatures, some of them being extremely dangerous.

Where students can fly around and play mock games, and where the house teams will compete for the House Cup.

The tomb of Albus Dumbledore rests on the shores of the black lake, where students, staff, and visitors may pay their respects to the great Headmaster of Hogwarts.

On the grounds near the lake, is a section where a garden has been started with benches throughout. The garden is filled with vibrant flowers and colors to celebrate the lives of all those who perished during the Battle of Hogwarts. A stone pillar in the middle of the garden is engraved with the names of all the fallen. At night the top of the pillar lights up like a beacon in respect of the fallen.

Several Greenhouses are located on the Hogwarts grounds where Herbology classes are held. The greenhouses hold many magical plants, some of them are more dangerous and have been locked in a greenhouse off limits to students.
