When one first looks at Damon and gets to know him, they do not expect him to be a Slytherin. He doesn’t judge people based on the status of their blood, but on one’s character and actions. He’s cunning, charismatic, and extremely charming. He is an extremely loyal person being someone who will fight to the death for anyone of his friends or family members. That loyalty however also extends to the entire wizarding world with him believing that he has a duty to help serve the wizarding community as many members of the Stonewhick family have done so. However Damon is an extremely ambitious person, who has always made sure to think his actions through to ensure he can reach his goals. He is known to develop well written out plans with several phases for his goals that he wants including to become Head Auror one day.
Damon suffers from depression since his parents were killed in the attacks that brought down the statue of secrecy. He has decided to try and deal with it on his own without really reaching out to his friends, even the closest ones. The depression has lead him to try different things he would never have done, he started drinking during the summer break, and has even took to taking various illegal elixirs. Damon also does have a temper and while he has tried working on it, since his parent’s death his fuse has become much shorter and the explosions have become much more explosive with a few turning violent against other students.
History
The Stonewhick family has long been established within the wizarding community of the United Kingdom with their roots dating somewhere between the early 1500’s. While some rumors have claimed the family was once an original pure-blood family, there is no evidence to support the theory. The family is well known for its ties to the muggle-world with many of the relatives marrying muggles. They are also well known for there service to the community both in the muggle and wizarding world, with many going on to become Aurors, Hit Wizards, Prosecutors and etc. On June 27th, 2006 in Godric’s Hollow Damon Vaux Stonewick was born to Elizabeth and Terrance Stonewhick becoming their third and last child. Damon was the blessing they had wanted, a boy, with the first two being girls they were desperate for a Stonewhick male heir.
Terrance and Elizabeth were both Aurors with Terrance being assigned to the Advanced Guard a group of elite Aurors that oversaw protection for the Minister. Both of Damon’s sisters were much older being born to their parents right out of Hogwarts, and already had joined the Ministry with one as legal clerk, and the other training to be an international lawyer. At the age of four he first showed signs of magic by lighting the dining room table cloth on fire when his sisters wouldn't stop picking on him and kept taking his ice cream from him. In retrospect the fire only ended up melting the ice cream. When Damon was nine his father would take him to work at times and let him hang around the Minister’s office with him getting to meet the Minister. He was also treated to learning about the history of the magical world from his father who was a bit of a historian, while his mother insisted he learn all about Herbology and Charms being her favorite subject. His sisters both saw they helped tutor him in their own respective fields they enjoyed with him learning about Alchemy, and International Law.
In 2017 Damon started Hogwarts, with him hoping to be sorted into the house of Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, the two main houses most Stonewhicks were sorted in. Instead the Sorting hat saw more in him for Slytherin than any other house, telling him his raw-nature for ambition and his drive for achieving it all, would be best sorted in Slytherin. Damon took to Hogwarts instantly, making many friends more of them outside his house and with Gryffindors. In his first two years he didn’t care about his grades and got in plenty of trouble and it wasn’t until his third year that he finally started buckling down. His parents had come down hard the summer before third year, restricting him any outside or inside activities. In his third year he started taking Care of Magical Creatures and Magical Theory as electives, and also paying more attention to all of his classes. He joined his house Quidditch team as a Chaser during his fourth year and stayed on for the rest of his time at Hogwarts and at times, alternating as the Keeper.
When it came to the OWL year Damon did well on the exams placing in top marks in a few of his classes mainly, DADA, Charms, and Potions. The results were good enough for him to start NEWT courses that would help him become an Auror. He knew he would have to work harder than most before as the standards ended up being raised by the current head of magical law enforcement department at that time. He also picked up the Ancient Runes course seeing it as something important, and despite dropping history of magic he made sure to continue studies in that field as his father pressed him on it. During spring break,on April 3rd while at his house all hell broke loose that night. Around the world, masked attackers stormed different magical destinations, including the Ministry of Magic. Elizabeth was at home including her daughters, they sealed the house, locking Damon in and they fled to the Ministry to aid in the distress call that had been sent. Terrance was guarding the Minister and was killed trying to protect the Minister, who was killed during the attack. Elizabeth Stonewhick was found dead in the Auror office attempting to help her fellow Aurors. Tanya Stonewhick, Damon’s oldest sister, was found dead outside the Ministry, with witness saying she was killed instantly as she arrived. Charice Stonewhick was found to be alive but, had been cursed horribly with her being confined to St. Mungos to this day.
In a matter of hours, the entire world had been turned upside down and the muggle world knew about magic, and the entire wizarding world. Damon’s world ended up collapsing with him dealing with the loss of his parents, sister, and the indefinite hospitlastion of his other sister by a group of attackers that nobody knew and even saw coming. Now with the summer ending and his seventh year starting soon, Damon is trying to struggle with his demons and keep up his studies to become an Auror. He has taken the grief and funnels it all to becoming an Auror and helping avenge his family’s deaths and the deaths of so many others that horrible night. More than anything he wants answers to what happened that night, who were the attackers, who attacked his sister and what curse did they use.
