Fox How his brother cared, reassured and made him feel better when he was down. | Making his family proud of his achievements. | His brother leaving him or turning on him. |
What you see is what you get with this boy, or rather, young man (as he prefers to be addressed).
Jun has neither the patience nor time to mask his feelings and doesn't care to sugar-coat his words. He likes you or he doesn't, and you'll probably be sure which of the two it is. He comes from a well-off family- and that has probably something to do with his popularity (he definitely didn't win all his friends over with his... charms). He won't discriminate based on background or blood when it comes to choosing friends- Rather, he is very conscious of appearances. He takes great care in his own image and doesn't mean to ruin it all by siding with those who would take away from it. Neither is he one for flowery prose and beating around the bush. Jun values honesty and those who can express their opinions well, as he does himself.
Jun is an ambitious young man who looks ahead rather than the present. Many have tried telling him that he should enjoy the here and now, but he doesn't see the point. His hard work will all be worthwhile once he succeeds in life as a renowned wizard. He holds close the belief that you get what you work for- and that most are unwilling to put in the work required to get where they want. He has never seen the appeal in cheating and will stand by the rules. Nevertheless, he has a competitive personality and enjoys being around others who can keep him stimulated.
Most see him as someone very prim and very proper. But there are a select few who have seen the much more childish and caring side to him. His brother, is probably most subjected to this side of Jun. Here, he can let down his walls and relax- in fact, he does get so stressed and wound up that he is reliant on his brother to relax.
History
Jun was born to Jinyoung Lee and Cho Chang, two celebrated figures within the wizarding world- his mother as a brave witch who fought alongside Harry Potter and now a celebrated professor in her own right as well as his father, who owns a successful business in dealing with rare magical ingredients from Eastern Asia. Jun has always adored his family and has wanted to help them as much as they helped him. But they were a busy family and as Cho had her hands full with one very spirited daughter, Jun was often left in his father's care. This meant that he spent a lot of time in his father's office, conference rooms and visiting company sites. All of which, required Jun to behave and be quiet. Which is a big ask for such a young child... But Jun impressed not only his father but the employees as well with his behaviour. Enjoying the attention he received, he worked hard to help his father and earn his approval. So Jun quickly grew closer to his father than any of his siblings .
In fact, as months turned to years, Jun was treated almost as an intern within the company. And he received training and pointers from his father and the other managers he dealt with. But as the seriousness settled in of all his father expected from him, he got more and more stressed and would resent time in the office. His brother noticed and would care, play and help him unwind when they were together. It was with his support that Jun managed to deal with long hours after school working with his father.
His letter from Hogwarts was a godsend and at long last, Jun could find some piece of mind and hang around with children his own age and just enjoy life.
Or so he thought.
Suddenly being thrust into such a new environment, Jun didn't cope well at all. While his brother was placed in Gryffindor, Jun was sorted into Slytherin. He missed his brother and he struggled to socialize with his peers- all he could do was work hard and at least manage his grades. It was only with a close circle of friends and with his brother that he slowly but surely eased into life at Hogwarts.
As the years went by, Jun flourished in Slytherin. The ambitious and competitive nature of the House meant that he was always pushing himself to do better and he rose not only in grades but on the social ladder as well. He found himself not struggling to make friends anymore but rather choosing them as he deemed fit.
When the attacks happened, Jun's family provided aid for those who had suffered- housing those who had lost their own homes and distributing healing potions to help the injured. Jun helped as well when he wasn't busy. And for the many months to follow as the statue was put in place, Jun would be buried in paperwork as he helped his father register his business through the muggle governments as well. But aside from the complicated paperwork, Jun was not against the statute. Rather, he also supported the peace between the people-
Yet with the attacks and power imbalances, he remains skeptical as to whether the two groups can truly live together peacefully and is already preparing for the worst.
